Fancy yourself as a TED Talker?

Or maybe you just want to be inspired by some live TED talks? As DMU Made relaunches TEDx in Leicester, this year your chance to catch some live on campus…

Ever got inspired by a TED talk? You’re not alone – they’ve racked up almost 3 billion watches online and inspired new ideas and action in millions of people around the world, usually in the fields of technology, entertainment, and design.

This year TEDx is being relaunched at DMU, which lots of opportunities to see TED-style talks and even speak at an event yourself.

TEDx is a way of bringing the ‘TED talk’ experience to a local live audience. DMU have hosted two TEDx events before in 2019 and 2020, including this talk on Women in Leadership which has been watched over 70,000 times since.

This year DMU Made, which is part of our Careers Team and the online home of entrepreneurship at DMU, is putting on two TEDx events - a conference in early 2026 and a speaker series which will last throughout the academic year.

Any DMU student, graduate or member of staff interested in delivering a talk can apply via the DMU Made website.

Applicants must have an original idea they want to share, which aligns with both the theme and DMU Made’s work around freelancing, entrepreneurship and employability.

Watch this space for the date for the conference, but for now book onto the first speaker event on Tuesday 25 November at 5pm.
